On a daily basis, marketing tactics are employed millions of times a day across the globe. Whether it is SMS texting, social media, television, or flyers. We previously wrote about the stages of the marketing funnel. During the Consideration stage of the funnel, consumers are interested in your business. It’s time. Let’s dive into Email Marketing!

Is email marketing dead?

The answer is NO. It’s alive and a great way to communicate offers and news with your customers.

Ask yourself this, “Why do you sign up for newsletters?”

You and I love discounts. And, people want more information on upcoming updates/collections.

According to Hubspot.com, email generates $38 for every $1 spent, which is an astounding 3,8000 % ROI.  If you think email is no longer worthwhile, you might want to rethink that thought. Email is one of the most effective marketing strategies available.  When shoppers are ready to buy something, they often look for emails from their favorite stores and services. People will either google search discounts (I’m guilty of this) or look for emails.

Why should I use email marketing?

When you shop for new clothes, there’s always a new collection every season. And, how do we find this new collection? There are several ways of finding new information about business.

Your customers are not always on social media. Most might not visit your profile. Every consumer is on different platforms at different times. A new email, a new post from social, SMS text and more… The more exposure you give yourself to the consumers. The higher chance, they will purchase from you again for the first time. Sometimes, they might not have $$$ at the moment. So, send them another email next week and they might purchase from you.

Increase your chances of selling with  the amount of content you put out, but keep it relevant and valuable

How to Begin Email Marketing:

Step 1: Choose your email marketing platform

Mailchimp Login Screen

Each email marketing platform has its pros and cons. We won’t go into detail on each platform, but I will show you how simple it is to send your first email campaign using Mailchimp! Once you’ve chosen a platform you should complete your company’s account set up.

Step 2: Creating your first Email Campaign!

First, create the name of your email campaign. You are able to format this whichever best serves you.

Select your intended audience. You’re able to create an audience here.

In this quick tutorial, I chose to Educate because that’s the goal of the Email Campaign. We want to send out a quick snippet of this blog to educate our readers to gain valuable knowledge. But, please choose your desired template. Experiment and learn as you go!

If you don’t have an audience to send emails, we offer email campaigns to our existing user database to promote your product or services…

Designing the artwork might take 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your experience.

Figure out what you would like to say. Creating your message will not be quick and easy. Think about what your audience wants to hear. And, try to give as much value as you possibly can.

After you complete these steps, go ahead and send it or schedule it! Make sure you don’t send your email campaigns at an inconvenient time for your audience. Marketers will usually send their first campaigns of the day starting at 6:00 AM or 8:00 AM. It will be the first thing people check.

Ask yourself, “when do you check emails?”

Step 3: Analyze your data

Does it EVEN WORK?! Look at your numbers/metrics first before you yell at your Emails.

Keeping up-to-date with your metrics will help you analyze and determine what’s working. Always make sure you keep track of this information to design Email content that resonates best with your audience. There’s no #1 email type that will be a driving factor for sales in your business. You must target all of the points of your audience.

We’ll be creating another blog that goes further in-depth on analyzing your data. Maximum Performance… That’s when you begin Funnel Hacking.

People may need a little more education and persuasion about your product/service before buying. Others may want to save money by waiting for a special sale! At times, people need to see your brand 8 times before buying. It all depends on how much your service/product cost. The higher the price, the more branding you must do!

Diversify your Email content to hit every emotion and logic point to convince people that they need your product now and not later. Your success will depend on the amount of exposure you bring out to your business. Don’t wait for people to try to find you. Put your business out there and work hard! Remember, we’re all humans. WE HATE annoying advertising if it’s not relevant. So… let’s bring value more than quantity.
